Director of Nursing
Karen is responsible for the overall management and performance of the clinical operations of Advanced Care Partners. She oversees the coordination of patient care through the supervision of the clinical staff, as well as manage Safety, Infection Prevention/Control, and the Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement program.
Prior to joining Advanced Care Partners, Karen served as the Director of Nursing for Piedmont Newnan Hospital, a 157-bed facility. There she was responsible for the clinical, operational, and financial leadership of all inpatient units: 2 medical/surgical, Orthopedic/Surgical, Intensive Care, and Intermediate Care. Prior to becoming the Director of Nursing Karen also served as the Director of Quality and Safety for Piedmont Newnan Hospital and the Manager of Accreditation for Piedmont Fayette Hospital.
Karen received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Salisbury University, Salisbury MD; her Master of Science in Nursing: Healthcare Systems Management from Loyola University, New Orleans LA.
Her nursing career has been dedicated to creating high-quality, reliable systems of care and developing the next generation of nurses and health care professionals to lead in these ever-changing times.
Karen really enjoys outside life (hiking, running, boating) with her husband, Eric, and daughter, Molly, but her true love is just being a soccer mom.
